
Mr. Michael J. McNeill, M.S., Vice Echanson (Michael McNeill)
Michael, who is the only Master Sommelier in the State of Georgia, and only one of fifty-eight in the United States, brings with him not only his expertise but also a solid background in the luxury restaurant and hotel business.
He has worked at some of the country's most prestigious properties including the St. Regis in Manhattan and the Ritz Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta. Over the last two decades, Michael has worked alongside numerous world renowned five-star chefs including Grey Kunz at Lespinasse, Craig Sheldon at the Ryland Inn, and Guenther Seeger and Bruno Menard at the Dining Room.
Michael is a two-time national champion of the "Best Sommelier in America". He represented the U.S. in two world finals; at the Sopexa Gran Prix du Sommelier in Paris in 1994 - which entitled him to serve as President of the Jury for the U.S. competition that followed in 1997; and the Consours Mondial du Sommelier in Tokyo in 1995.
About Société Mondial du Vin
Société Mondial du Vin is the wine oriented branch of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. The 4-5 events created annually at some of the most interesting restaurants in Atlanta are primarily wine theme dinners. Various approaches are employed, from member BYOB to more formal presentations. All is aimed at education, comaraderie and enjoyment.
